Dr. Daniel Duryea

Dan Duryea received his Doctorate in Counselor Education and Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University at Buffalo, New York. Dan was a college and university professor for eleven years in counselor education, specializing in the treatment of individuals with substance use problems. Daniel has spent the last thirty years specializing in treating adults (18 +) with substance use problems, and other mental health concerns often complicated by their substance use.

Dan utilizes an eclectic approach meeting his clients where they are, with an emphasis on an empathic and client centered process, accompanied by, motivational, cognitive behavioral, solution focused and existential methods. Each client is viewed as an individual with their own specific strengths and shortfalls, which can be improved by insight, challenge, and changes in their behavior and thinking, ultimately leading to positive changes and personal growth.
