Dr. Tobi Russell, Director

Tobi Russell received her Doctorate in Counselor Education from Oakland University, her Master of Science degree in clinical psychology from Eastern Michigan University and received a Master of Arts degree in counseling from Oakland University. Tobi has a child and adolescent specialization, is a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor as well as a certified clinical supervisor in addictions in the state of Michigan. She is a board-certified expert in traumatic stress.

She sees individuals from age 7 and up dealing with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, substance abuse, PTSD/trauma, self-injury, eating disorders, and childhood adjustment to stressors. As it can be difficult sometimes for children to engage in traditional talk therapy, Tobi utilizes play therapy, art therapy, music therapy and sandtray approaches to help them communicate their feelings. Tobi also has experience with topics related to chronic health conditions and assisting individuals with understanding the mind/body connection.

Tobi is a member of the 52-3 District Court Sobriety Court team and 52-4 District Court Sobriety Court Team.  She has presented throughout the county and state on topics related to children and adolescents, substance abuse, trauma, self-injury and eating disorders. She has appeared on the morning show of Channel 4 with Guy Gordon and Rhonda Walker discussing issues of traumatic abuse and neglect and on the dangers of K2 and synthetic drugs.

Tobi participates with organizations in and around the Rochester area. She is an advisory board member with Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital and an Ambassador with the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce. Tobi is a member of the American Counseling Association.
